Unloop helps you break compulsive phone-app habits. We built it to collect as little as possible. This policy explains what leaves your device, what never does, and how to delete everything.
When you sign in with Apple, or through the silent anonymous backup account the app creates so your progress is not lost, Unloop syncs the following to our own backend (hosted on Supabase) so it can follow you across devices. Grouped the way it appears on our App Store privacy label:
We do not collect: your Screen Time or usage statistics, the identities of the specific apps you block, your contacts, your location, or any advertising identifiers.
To understand which features help and where people get stuck, Unloop sends usage events to Amplitude, our analytics provider. Examples: which onboarding step was completed, that a paywall was shown, that a purchase went through, that a focus session started or ended, how many loops are tracked, and whether an urge was resisted.
We do not use your data for advertising, we do not track you across other apps or websites, and we do not share it with third parties for their own purposes. Supabase is our own backend that stores synced data for us, and Amplitude stores usage analytics for us; neither may use your data for anything of their own.
Some things never leave your iPhone: the specific apps you pick to block, your Screen Time statistics, any pause messages you write for yourself, the first name Apple hands us when you sign in (kept on the device only, so the app can greet you by name), and the Mindful Minutes Unloop writes to Apple Health when you resist an urge or finish a focus session. Unloop only writes those minutes to Apple Health; it never reads your Health data.
Open Settings then Delete account inside the app. This permanently removes your rows from our backend and deletes your authentication record. It also resets the random analytics identifier on your device, so nothing new joins the old analytics stream. Analytics events are not linked to your account; if you want the old ones deleted too, email us and we will remove them from Amplitude. You can also email us and we will handle the whole deletion for you.
Unloop is a self-control tool for the person using it (Screen Time authorization is individual, not parental). It is not directed to children under 13.
If this policy changes, we will update the date above and, for material changes, note it in the app.
