A gentler screen blocker for iPhone

There’s a moment before the scroll. Take it back.

Unloop puts a 90-second Pause before apps you open on reflex. Optional Blocked Hours protect the times you already know are vulnerable—so you get to choose before the scroll chooses for you.

01 / RECOGNITION

THE LOOP IS QUIET

You didn’t lose your discipline.

The feed got very good at arriving before your intention. Unloop calls that automatic cue → urge → open pattern a Loop.

8:14 PM

“I’m only checking one thing.”

8:47 PM
THE REFLEX

Close the app.
Open it again.
Never notice the gap.

THE COST

Not just minutes.
The thought you were finishing.
The person beside you.
The bedtime you meant.

You don’t need more willpower. You need enough space between the urge and the open for your intention to catch up.

02 / WHAT RETURNS

THE APP IS NOT THE OUTCOME

It’s about being where you meant to be.

01

Finish the thought.

A short interruption can be enough to return to the sentence, task, or idea you were already inside.

02

Stay in the room.

Fewer reflex checks means more attention stays with the person, meeting, or meal in front of you.

03

Let bedtime stay bedtime.

Blocked Hours protect the window when good intentions are least useful—then lift when you told them to.

LESS TIME LOSING THE THREAD MORE TIME LIVING IT
03 / HOW THE HABIT CHANGES

ONE VISUAL MODEL · FOUR LONG-TERM STATES

Watch the habit
lose its grip.

Each Loop gets one Loopling—the in-app visual for its Habit Strength. Repeated opens make it larger. Repeated Pauses make the number fall and the creature fade.

01FED
01 · FED / 87

Repeated opens strengthen the Loop.

Cue, open, relief. Reward the same circuit often enough and Habit Strength rises.

URGE MOMENT · TEMPORARY

An Urge makes it beg.

The Pause appears before the app and lets the wave pass. Begging is a temporary animation—not a progress stage.

02 · FADING / 61

Each Pause leaves it unfed.

One choice barely moves the score. Repeated Outlasted urges teach the Loop that the expected reward is no longer guaranteed.

03 · DORMANT / 19

The reflex arrives less often.

Habit Strength falls, the Loopling cools and shrinks, and The Lab makes the quieter pattern visible.

04 · GRADUATED / 11

The Loop reaches an ending.

Stay below the reflex threshold for 14 days and it Graduates. The goal is to need Unloop less.

04 / INSIDE THE BETA

REAL PRODUCT UI · THREE DISTINCT JOBS

0103
01 / THE LAB

See today without judgment.

The Lab is home base: minutes back versus baseline, today’s Outlasted and Fired moments, and one live Habit Strength score for each Loop.

  • Today compared with your baseline
  • One live score per app habit
02 / MY PLAN

Choose your friction.

Open starts with Pauses. Standard adds Blocked Hours. Strict can require a 24-hour exit—or the key held by your Buddy.

  • You choose the level before the urge
  • Blocks always lift when promised
03 / PROGRESS

Proof you can leave.

Progress keeps the long view: every decay curve, Days On Track, Grace Days, time reclaimed, and the Journal behind each change.

  • A Grace Day does not erase the trend
  • Graduated is a real finish line
05 / CONTROL + TRUST

THE RULES BEHIND THE RULES

Firm with the loop.
Gentle with you.

01

You choose the friction.

Open, Standard, or Strict: the app follows the level you selected while you were thinking clearly.

02

Opening anyway is data.

If you genuinely need the app, the choice stays visible. Unloop records Fired without turning one moment into a verdict.

03

The goal is to need this less.

Unloop tracks a Loop toward a finish line instead of selling permanent dependence on another attention app.

Your Screen Time usage stays on your iPhone. Unloop may sync only its own plan, settings, and Urge events so progress can be restored on a new device.

PRIVATE iOS BETA · OPENING SOON

Make room for what you meant to do.

We’re inviting a small first group to test whether a little space before the open can return more of the day—and to shape what feels useful before Unloop launches.

One email when the beta opens, plus occasional build notes. That’s it.

BEFORE YOU JOIN

Good questions.
Quiet answers.

Is Unloop available now?

Not yet. Unloop is being prepared for a private iOS beta. Joining the early-access list is the best way to know when invitations begin.

Does it actually block apps?

Yes. Unloop uses Apple’s Screen Time system to shield the apps, categories, and websites you choose during Blocked Hours or a Focus Session.

What if I genuinely need the app?

The choice stays available. You can start the Pause or choose “Open anyway.” Unloop records that event as Fired and returns you to the plan without turning it into a moral failure.

Is this another streak I can fail?

No. Days On Track show momentum, and Grace Days can protect progress when life gets messy. The core record is simply what happened: Outlasted or Fired.

What will it cost?

Pricing has not been finalized. Early members will see it clearly before any paid plan is offered—no surprise charge and no App Store promise before the product is ready.
